1) Course Description This course is concerned with the study of numbers up to 100,000, factors and multiples, Lines, angles, rectangles, squares, perimeter and area, In addition, it covers the concept in finding sum, difference, product and quotient of whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Furthermore, solving problems using information presented in tables and graphs, drawing and labeling geometrical figures, symmetry and solid figures and designing and making tessellations are included in this course. 2) Grade-Level Indicators (The Basic Education Core Curriculum) 3) Learning Objectives ( 1st Semester ) Indicators of Semester 1. To make students capable of finding place value and rounding up numbers up to 100,000 2. To make students proficient in calculating products and quotients of given numbers following mathematical procedure properly 3. To develop students skills in listing multiples and factors of whole numbers up to 100
In accordance with government curriculum
4. To sharpen students skill in drawing and identifying horizontal lines, perpendicular lines and vertical lines using a ruler and a set square 5. To let students Integrate their knowledge and skills in constructing and labeling of angles using protractors 6. To let students use the properties of a rectangle and square in finding the unknown angles 7. To expand students’ knowledge in solving problems involving perimeter and area of squares and rectangles 8. To sharpen students’ ability in finding the sum, difference, product and quotient of like and unlike fractions 9. To Develop students skills in Adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing decimals 10. To enhance students’ knowledge in solving problems involving tables and graphs 11. To elevate students’ knowledge in identifying and describing a rectangle, square, parallelogram, rhombus, trapezium, isosceles triangle, a right-angled triangle and an equilateral triangle 12. To upgrade students’ skills in designing and making tessellation patterns. 13. To let students integrate their skills and knowledge in identifying symmetric figures and determining the line of symmetry 14. To make students capable of Identifying cubes and cuboids and stating the number of unit cubes that make up a solid
