1. How Batches are made • Initially the students were categorized based on their academic

performance. • The categories were Good performers, Average Performers and

Poor performers. • Every batch was formed in combination of three categories to

achieve good coordination between good, average and poor performers.

7/20/2018

2. How guides were allotted • Some students contacted their guides and chosen on their own,

which was happily accepted by coordinator, HOD and respective guides. • Remaining guides were allotted after students choosing their area

of interest. • Primarily the guides were allotted based on specializations of the

topics.

7/20/2018

3. Number of reviews conducted, dates of reviews and panel members • Four reviews were conducted 1. Abstract review: 18-01-2018 to 20-01-2018: Dr. S.K.Rao, Ms.M.Mounika,

Mr. Vijaya Babu 2. Literature Review: 01-02-2018 to 03-02-2018: Dr. S.K.Rao, Ms. Mounika,

4. Formats given to students in regard to major project abstract to submission • Formats list given to students are 1. Title page format, with batch members along with signature of guide 2. Format for Abstract document 3. Format for Abstract review (PPT) 4. Format for Literature review, Guidelines 5. Format with Guidelines for Progress review 6. Format with guidelines for Final Review. A WhatsApp Group was created and all the final year students and Faculty members were added to the group. All the information was thoroughly sent to everyone to achieve transparency and suggestions from all faculty members. Most of the guidelines were communicated through Whatsapp and E-mail, Which was well accepted and followed by the students.

7/20/2018

5. Difficulties faced during Projects A plan was there to conduct review with two panel members simultaneously. Prerana hall was rejected for Project reviews by Computer cell, which was one of

the hurdles in smooth conduction of reviews We couldn’t provide a fixed panel to all reviews due to problems in

implementation. Due to insufficient moulds in concrete technology laboratory, students faced

several issues and was also led to misunderstanding between students. Later with intervention of HOD, the issue was settled and all students were done

justice.

Feedback on Academic review Presentation After a very organized presentation of academic review by Dr.S.Krishna rao, head of the department of civil engineering, Participants were requested to fill the feedback forms and the following paragraphs will give an overview of the remarks and suggestions made by the participants as well as the plan of action to counter those remarks. Remarks  Remarks of the participants were mostly on the poor academic performance of the students Plan of action: 1. Identifying the students in the first semester of second year who are performing poorly by conducting non graded assessments like tutorials in each subject. 2. A mentor/faculty is assigned for those identified students for providing guidance and notify them to be in touch throughout the course until his/her grades are improved.  Motivation of the faculty towards the Research Plan of action: A dedicated Cell with detailed plan of action is provided regarding the activities of the R&D cell in the academic review itself and the cell is frequently monitored to make sure every proposed objective is being achieved.

Feedback on Academic review Presentation Suggestions Participants of the program gave suggestions for the department to: • Improve the number of certification courses • Make sure all the head of the departments are present during the presentation as it helps in a self-assessment of respective departments as well as it helps in motivating to implement the presented idea • Monitor the performance of the newly recruited staff and the quality of the experienced staff • Introduce at least one inter-disciplinary subject • Encourage young faculty in registering for the professional memberships
