China Compulsory Product Certification System • Implemented on May 1, 2002 • Old system was annulled on Aug. 1, 2003 • Scope: Products related to human life and health, animals, plants, environmental protection and national security. Not allowed to imported or sold without CCC-approval •Certification mode: one or more of the six certification modes, normally, for most products, the following combination mode is applied: “Type test + Initial FI + Follow Up FI”

China Compulsory Certification: Initial Inspection of the Factory Once the products have passed the type test, the authority will arrange Initial Assessment to the factory. The factory inspection will take normally 6 days and the following aspects will be checked by the inspectors: 

China Compulsory Certification: Initial Inspection of the Factory

Inspection Scope: 1. Capability of factory quality assurance and shall covered the products to be certified and processing premising 2. Check the consistency of the product

Evaluation: 1. Will be done after the results of both factory inspection and sample test are conform to the requirements 2. Then, the certification body shall issue the certification(s)

Non-conformities 1. Non-conformities found in FI must be corrected in 3 months; 2. Non-conformities of product sampling test must be corrected and re-test in 3 months If correction cannot be completed within 3 months, the certification will be terminated, then application can be submit again.

China Compulsory Certification: Follow - up inspection

Frequency: at least once per year and shall be implemented 12 months after the certificate being granted

Content of the follow-up inspection: 1. Model of the follow-up inspection 2. Re-assessment of factory quality assurance ability + consistency inspection + sampling test
